We have two routes, the 55km Slea Head Loop and the 120km Slea Head, Conor Pass loop, that means this event will suit all cycling abilities. There is plenty of time to train so if you haven’t taken part in a cycling event before, why not give it a go?
2. It’s not only a personal challenge but you’ll be supporting a good cause too
The inaugural Ride Dingle will support Camphill Communities Ireland – Dingle. Dingle Cycling Club and Elite Events are proud to support this local charity that does great work in Dingle with people with intellectual disabilities and other special needs.
3. Dingle is great!
People from Kerry already know this – everyone else is just catching up. On this event you’ll get to see both the wonderful, energetic Dingle town and the surrounding coastline and countryside of Dingle Peninsula as well as enjoying some great Kerry hospitality. Make a weekend of it if you are from out of town and take in some of the other fantastic experiences the peninsula has to offer, find out more here.
4. This is the first time you’ll be able to cycle the Dingle Peninsula with road closures on certain parts
The road between Dingle town and Slea Head will be closed to all traffic except cyclists on the morning of the event. There will also be a closure on Conor Pass – (both of these are subject to relevant approvals). Take the opportunity to embrace the roads of the Dingle Peninsula like never before.
5. It’s gonna be a great day out!
There will be great excitement around the event with registration taking place on the Friday evening in Dingle town. The routes will be the pinnacle of the day but to top everything off there will be a celebratory finish line event with entertainment and food – fun for all the family and not to be missed.
